CD Mastering Studio Quality Control

Normalizing and or adding compression to your final stero Mix before Audio Mastering, can cause issues during CD Mastering. Black Dog will add multilevel compression, and bring levels up without normalizing the audio. On individual tracks it is ok to use compression and effects while mixing; however it is not recommended to adjust anything to the final stereo mix.

For better quality and less errors burn the final mix on the lowest speed possible (1X or 2X instead of 4X or higher). Labels, of any kind, should not be used on your CD's or DVD's. In addition, the bottom area of the CD or DVD should not be touched by anything except the CD burner and the case you are sending it in. To organize your project you should write on the CD/DVD cases. These simple steps will help to ensure that your final mix will arrive without any errors.

Most audio formats are accepted. If you have specific questions about a format please contact Black Dog Mastering Studio through the Contact page, we will be glad to answer any questions. Please see our CD Mastering rates, by clicking here.
